What am I hoping to get out of A2:

• This year I am hoping to widen my understanding of the media world by learning the key conventions and learning about the music video industry.
• I am also hoping to gain improved editing and shooting skills.

Initial ideas:

• One of my ideas was Stay by Post Malone - The song is about him and his girlfriend. They aren't very happy together but they still love each other but they always fight. Post Malone is contemplating leaving her because she doesn't make him happy however is willing to give her a chance as they talk things through while completely sober (because they're almost always under the influence otherwise).  
• Another idea I had is Go by Ella Eyre - This song is also about her and her boyfriend not being happy together as she says "If I go, Will you love me when I come back".

PODCAST 9: Rough Cut Updates

• Full rough cut is based on this with a few changes
• Still need to make more changes

Rough Cut things to improve:

1.  Some slo-mo!
2.  Would've been better to have girl's hair tied back to show emoting
3.  Lot of shakey shots; lot of out of focus - target especially with layering
4.  Is there scope for BRIEF diegetic intro and/or intro?
5.  Lot of takes need brief trimming to reduce elements that diminish verisimilitude
6.  Every 'drop' needs careful consideration
7.  Fair bit of vocals not quite synced
8.  SS' perf + costume is a strength
9.  Play around with possible colouring/FX to make narrative distinctive too.
10.  Good eg of where you might layer: 017 has lot of open space, so maybe some of that graveyard scene
11.  023 good eg of framing that works well for non-greenscreened layer
12.  032 good eg of take needing slight trimming (from end)
13.  the 3 'coverage' takes around 042, last works well, prev 2 are random, and don't (think about  hand scraping over wall mural / grafittied wall etc
14.  stairs/bedroom - see my comments on prev cut; same issues
15.  this includes ONE jump cut; usually makes more sense to have 2/3 in one sequence
16.  058 an eg of not really paying full attention to the drop
17.  always be clear why you're using a take; 114 is just too random
18.  118 a big audio spike (duplicating audio layer?)
19.  122 watch out for takes that are too short; this also needs shot variety, eg CU of the eating
20.  125 look for opportunities to illustrate (Goodwin) lyrics, eg intoxicate me

There are no visual effects as of yet but these will be improved.

What needs to be changed:

• Colour correction on a few clips
• 1:00 - 1:09 the background two performers arent playing 
• shot at 1:21 is too quick
• 1:50 odd framing with a tree in top left
• 1:51 CU of push
• Clip at 2:02 needs to be replaced
• Stabilization in a few shaky clips
• Maybe add some greenscreen effect at 3:20
• Have some greenscreen footage added in narrative in some places
• Reshoot graveyard scene
• Avoid shooting the text on them

• singer's singing was convincing

• some shots of the guitar solo was a bit off
• some syncing of singing shots were off

- What's up guys, its Sam from Welshly Arms and Ive got exciting news for y'all! We are gonna host a competition on TIK TOK where you can all enter. All you have to do to enter is make a TIK TOK using our song 'Locked' from our upcoming album and hashtag 'lockedonyou'. We will be watching all of them and the winner is gonna come up and join us and show off your rad skills whether that be drumming, strumming or singing. However don't be sad if you don't make 1st place because we have prizes for the top 2 runners up which is gonna be a signed copy of the limited edition digipak and for two 2 3rd places get a discount code for our merch in our store.
